A great opportunity for entry-level or retired individuals to help with small projects in a fun environment. Applicants should be handy or have some experience with tools. All applicants must be able to work both independently and as a part of a team.
Note: We are looking for part-time, with scheduling usually on a M, W, F or M, T, Th basis with hours between 8am – 5pm Monday through Friday.
Basic Functions:
- Maintain building, building equipment and grounds.
- Provide preventative maintenance service.
- Assist and coordinate workload with sub-contractors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.) Maintain building, building equipment and grounds:
- Assist the Sr. Maintenance Technician in assuring that the building, building equipment and grounds are maintained to operating efficiency to provide a pleasant appearance and safe environment for our patrons, guests, and staff.
- Perform work orders on a timely basis.
- Fix, replace, or repair items that may be broken, damaged, or in marginal condition.
- Respond to emergency situations as they arise.
2.) Provide preventative maintenance service:
- Assist and follow the direction of the Sr. Maintenance Technician in following proper maintenance schedules and recording proper log book notations.
3.) Assist and coordinate workload with sub-contractors:
- Assists sub-contractors as scheduled to ensure that the best of interests of the MSC are served and disruption of programs and guests does not occur.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma, G.E.D., or Vo Tech equivalent required.
- Technical schools, certificate courses are a plus.
- 3 to 5 years general building maintenance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Basic techniques of electricity, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
Skills:
- Good manual dexterity
- Good communication
- Mechanical, within code for this building
Ability to:
- Lift and carry heavy objects
- Utilize good common sense
- Follow instructions
- Working with rotating days off
Basic Requirements:
- Must be able to pass background check
This employee may perform some of the work of a senior level position in the process of gaining knowledge necessary for advancement and may also perform some of the work in a lower-rated position when required. Normal duties and responsibilities include assistance to other employees.
