BASIC FUNCTIONS:
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and Development Department
- Coordinate scheduling appointments, responding to requests, communications, and correspondence for the CEO
- Have basic knowledge of all areas of the Science Center and be available to assist other departments as requested
- Plan events and meetings for staff, Board, and committees
- Assist with planning for fundraising events
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of:
- MSC policies, procedures, and purpose
- Accepted office practices and procedures
- MSC By-Laws and Charter
- Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Database experience preferred
- Event planning experience preferred
- Knowledge of Altru or another donation software preferred
Skills:
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Strong organization and planning skills
- Basic Accounting
Abilities:
- Effectively interact with staff, management, board and council members, donors, volunteers, and others
- Work well under pressure to meet deadlines
- Work independently and exercise independent judgment
- Prioritize needs and manage diverse tasks
- Take initiative to analytically address and solve problems
Education: High school diploma required; college degree preferred. Two years business orientation.
Experience: 1-3 years administrative, Board administration, and/or development experience
Basic Requirements:
- Must be able to pass background check
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Must have a reliable car or be willing to drive Science Center in the Baltimore Metro area

Supervision Received: President/CEO, Senior Director of Development
Compensation: $22-24/hour
Hours: 8:30am-4:00pm Monday-Friday required
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
