Corporate Membership Manager

The Corporate Membership Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the MSC corporate membership program. This includes recruitment, retention, and stewardship of corporate members, as well as creating outreach strategies to expand the membership base and engage existing members. The manager will also be responsible for maintaining the membership database, processing and acknowledging gifts, and processing benefits. They will also manage event sponsorships, particularly for the annual Solstice gala. Additional duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage Corporate Membership Program:

  • Recruit, retain, and steward corporate members.
  • Secure and track corporate membership revenue, including projections for renewals and acquisitions, and monitor revenue received against projections.
  • Develop programs and initiatives to increase membership.
  • Plan member events, implement outreach strategies, and distribute information to current and prospective members.
  • Process memberships, enter gifts, and update donor information in Altru or other CRM software.
  • Generate acknowledgement letters and benefit packets for corporate members.
  • Fulfill corporate member ticket requests.
  • Act as a liaison with corporate member representatives, ensuring fulfillment of benefits and addressing inquiries or concerns.
  • Conduct stewardship appointments with corporate member representatives.
  • Generate reports and queries to track benefit usage, analyze the program’s performance, and monitor retention rates, upgrades, and monthly revenue against projections.

Manage Event Sponsorships:

  • Recruit, retain, and steward event sponsors, particularly for the Solstice gala and Annual STEM Awards.
  • Manage and execute sponsorship outreach efforts.
  • Secure and track sponsorship revenue.
  • Prepare sponsorship grant applications.
  • Process gifts, update donor information in Altru or other CRM software, and generate acknowledgement letters.
  • Coordinate sponsorship benefits.
  • Assist with other event activities as assigned.

Assist Development Staff and Daily Operations:

  • Support the Development staff with practices, procedures, and event management on a daily basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of: 

  • Understanding of MSC’s mission, values, programs, and procedures (preferred)
  • Knowledge of corporate membership best practices
  • Familiarity with fundraising principles

Skills: 

  • Keen attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Event planning (preferred): Experience or skills in event planning are advantageous

Abilities:

  • Ability to work effectively and positively with corporate members, donors, volunteers, and staff
  • Ability to analytically identify and solve problems
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgement

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of fundraising or related experience.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Altru or another donation software is required
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel

Basic Requirements

  • Must be able to pass background check
  • Must have a valid Maryland driver’s license and clean driving record

Pay range

$ 45,000 annually
