12:00pM – Meteor shower

1:00pM – behind the scenes of the davis planetarium
Have you ever wondered how the planetarium at the Maryland Science Center works? Go behind the scenes and find out!
2:00pM – Constellation Keychain
Get familiar with the constellations and stargaze at any time of the day!
3:00pM – Mars Mission challenge
We’re building a new community —on Mars! Leave your mark on the Red Planet and tackle some unique engineering challenges to help our Martian community be a success!
Materials
- Balls of different sizes and weights (marbles, ping-pongs, tennis balls, etc.)
- Aluminum foil
- Tray or bin with tall sides
- Flour or sand
- Ruler
- Brass fasteners, yarn, or string
- Cardstock or lightweight cardboard (like an empty cereal box)
- Glue
- Scissors
- Flashlight
- Printed copy of Constellation Patterns
- Paper
- Pencils, markers, or crayons
