Carnival Science

Location: Maryland Science Center
Cost: Free with paid admission
Who should attend: Everyone
When: Saturday, June 27, 2009
Have you ever wondered how a unicyclist keeps his balance or how a juggler can keep so many things in the air? What about the clown who can wow you with his optical illusions? It all comes down to science!
During carnival science, we invite you to partake in traditional carnival activities like beanbag toss, face painting, parachute games, juggling class, jellybean jar, water duckies and more! While you’re playing, you’ll also learn how science applies to each activity, with demos from Maryland Science Center staff. Be sure to catch the Suitcase Circus clown show with Mark Lohr and then meet some barnyard animals from the Maryland Zoo! Face-painter extraordinaire Peanutbutter (as seen on Martha Stewart) is also sending some of his troupe over to decorate faces as a colorful way to celebrate the science behind carnivals.
All activities free with paid admission.
